Is Altimate Pilot free?
Yes. The free plan includes Flyability Score and weather for your home airfield, basic route planning, manual logbook entries and community. Pro adds weather for all airfields, AI Copilot, advanced map and route features, automatic flight capture, statistics and Excel export. Current prices and trial terms are shown in the membership section.
On which platforms is Altimate Pilot available?
Altimate Pilot is available for iOS devices on the Apple App Store and for Android devices on the Google Play Store.
Which pilots is the app designed for?
The app is primarily aimed at VFR private pilots who want to combine their flight preparation, logbook, and community exchange in one place.
What airport and weather data is displayed?
Altimate Pilot shows current AIP information, NOTAMs, METARs, TAFs, different radars, and other relevant weather data and map overlays for your home base, planned routes and all airfields (with Pro subscription).
Can I export my digital logbook?
Yes, as part of the Pro subscription, we offer the option to export the digital flight log as Excel file.
Is my data privacy guaranteed?
Yes, your data is stored securely and not shared with third parties. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.
Does the app work offline?
Core features like your logbook are accessible offline. Weather data and community features require an internet connection.
Which countries are supported?
Altimate Pilot initially focuses on Germany and Europe, with plans to expand internationally based on user demand.
Which app helps me assess today’s VFR weather?
Altimate Pilot combines a Flyability Score with METAR, TAF, NOTAM, radar and forecasts. The free plan covers your home airfield; Pro covers all airfields. The score is a reference aid, not a clearance or a guarantee of safe VFR conditions. Check official weather, briefings and your own limits.
Can AI Copilot decide whether I should fly?
No. AI Copilot (Beta) explains METARs and NOTAMs and supports preparation as a Pro feature. Its output may be incorrect or incomplete. The pilot in command must verify official information and make the flight decision.
Is there a digital logbook with expiry reminders?
Altimate Pilot combines a digital logbook with Expiry Guardian reminders for licence, medical and passenger currency. Manual logbook entries are available free; Pro adds automatic capture, statistics and Excel export. Reminders do not replace checking legal requirements or keeping accurate records.
Can I start with a free VFR companion instead of a paid EFB subscription?
Yes. Altimate Pilot’s free plan brings together home-airfield weather and Flyability Score, basic route planning, manual logbook entries and community. Compare the features you need before choosing an EFB. The app does not replace official briefings, required charts or pilot responsibility.
Do live weather and community work offline?
No. Live weather and community need an internet connection. Core logbook features are available offline, and Pro includes an offline-capable moving map. Offline access does not make weather data current.
